Updated Stanley Cup champion betting odds

Keagan Smith takes a look at the updated Stanley Cup champion odds and betting lines on DraftKings Sportsbook with the field set for the 2026 NHL Playoffs.

The 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs are just around the corner with the puck set to drop for the first games of round one this weekend. The NHL’s 16-team field is officially set for the postseason, and while there are plenty of great teams, only one can emerge victorious with the ultimate prize and etch their names in the history books.

Now that we know exactly which franchises will be competing once the action begins on Saturday, let’s take a look at the updated odds to win the Stanley Cup on DraftKings Sportsbook in the NHL futures market.

Updated 2026 Stanley Cup champion odds

The last time we hit an update on Stanley Cup odds was back in early March with the dust still settling across the NHL from trade deadline shakeups. While the order hasn’t shifted drastically at the top, there has certainly been some movement since then. With the 16-team field now locked in with just a couple days remaining in the regular season, here are the updated odds to win the title on DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • Colorado Avalanche (+300)
  • Carolina Hurricanes (+450)
  • Tampa Bay Lightning (+500)
  • Dallas Stars (+1000)
  • Vegas Golden Knights (+1100)
  • Ottawa Senators (+1400)
  • Edmonton Oilers (+1400)
  • Buffalo Sabres (+1400)
  • Minnesota Wild (+1600)
  • Pittsburgh Penguins (+2200)
  • Utah Mammoth (+3000)
  • Montreal Canadiens (+3000)
  • Los Angeles Kings (+4000)
  • Boston Bruins (+5000)
  • Anaheim Ducks (+6500)
  • Philadelphia Flyers (+8000)

As mentioned above, the top of the leaderboard remains virtually unchanged as the Avalanche are still odds-on favorites with the Hurricanes and Lightning close behind all at +500 odds or shorter. Colorado remaining at the peak isn’t shocking in the least after taking the Presidents’ Trophy with a clear leg up on the rest of the league.

Tampa Bay has swapped spots with Carolina since the deadline, though. The Lightning’s path to even an Eastern Conference Final appearance will require an Atlantic Division gauntlet against the Canadiens and likely the Sabres. In comparison, the Hurricanes’ pathway through either the Bruins or Senators in round one before facing the Flyers or Penguins looks like a cakewalk.

As far as other movement is concerned, the Stars are deserving as the next team up after finishing second amidst a Central Division arms race. Their path to the Stanley Cup would prove difficult with a first-round matchup against the Wild before almost certainly meeting the Avalanche in round two, but Dallas has shifted up a good bit from +1500 odds at the deadline, even while weathering injuries down the stretch.

Another clear winner in terms of odds movement are the Sabres, who held +4000 odds to win the Stanley Cup earlier this season but moved up to +2200 at the deadline. All they did since then was secure their first Atlantic Division title — no big deal, right? Buffalo deserves to be treated as a true contender after finishing second in the Eastern Conference and displaying impressive grit throughout the year. The +1400 odds the franchise holds are probably a bit too long given the results the Sabres have produced.

Once you get past the Wild at +1600 (who should probably hold slightly better odds at the very least, even despite also having to get through the Central Division’s bloodbath), the remainder of competitors are all long-shot options. We’ll have a separate piece outlining best bets for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the coming days, but it should be noted that the Canadiens look like a potential value at +3000 odds to win the title. In the opposite vein, the odds on a Cup win for the Golden Knights and Senators both seem a bit too optimistic given the state of both teams, to say the least — but more on that later.
