Poet Technologies (NASDAQ: POET) experienced a substantial rally during Friday’s trading session, following a pullback the day before. The company’s stock gained 28.8% on a day when the S&P 500 rose 0.8% and the Nasdaq Composite increased by 1.6%, according to the source.

The broader market had reacted negatively to ServiceNow‘s quarterly results on Thursday, leading to widespread selling in software and technology stocks. However, that trend reversed quickly, with Friday bringing a significant rebound rally for the tech sector. This resurgence helped fuel a powerful bullish movement for Poet stock, which climbed 120.5% over the course of the past week.

After a sharp run-up, Poet stock experienced a pullback in Thursday’s trading as investors adopted a more cautious stance toward tech stocks following ServiceNow’s first-quarter reports and other industry outlook changes. In Friday’s trading, investors reversed course and resumed buying into artificial intelligence and other tech stocks with strong demand. Poet has been on a hot streak recently, and recent confirmation that the company secured an order with Marvell has boosted investor sentiment about the fiber optics specialist’s long-term prospects.

Poet CFO Thomas Mika recently confirmed that Poet has secured orders with a company that Marvell acquired earlier this year. This development is positive for the company’s commercialization ramp. While management had previously guided for an order of roughly $5 million this year from a leading data-center systems integrator, the confirmation that the company is Marvell is a very bullish development. The confirmation also leaves the door open for the total contract level to potentially exceed the previously announced target, with some investors betting that Poet’s wins are just beginning.
