A daily newsletter known as Morning Minute, authored by Tyler Warner, provided the morning’s top headlines in the crypto space. Bitcoin was trading at $77,400 amid a broad decline in crypto majors, as rising yields and an oil price spike pressured the market.

The newsletter reported that SpaceX launched pre-IPO trading on the Hyperliquid platform, generating $40 million in volume within its first 12 hours. Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds experienced nearly $1 billion in net outflows over the previous week, breaking a six-week streak of inflows. Aave has restored its Wrapped Ether loan-to-value ratios to levels seen before a recent exploit. Meanwhile, disclosures from the family of the current President of the United States, Donald Trump, revealed multiple cryptocurrency trades involving Coinbase (COIN), Robinhood (HOOD), and Marathon Digital (MARA).

Bitcoin slipped from $82,000 on Thursday to below $77,000 by Sunday, with U.S. Treasury yields identified as the likely catalyst. The 10-year yield reached 4.6%, and the 30-year yield crossed 5% for the first time since May 2025. The probability of a rate hike in 2026 rose to 40%. The outflows from Bitcoin spot ETFs totaled $1 billion for the week, breaking a six-week inflow streak. This occurred despite Michael Saylor selling enough STRC to purchase over 15,000 Bitcoin—though the actual amount bought remained to be confirmed.

Bitcoin fell under $77,000 as cryptocurrency liquidations topped $672 million amid the bond sell-off. Ethereum fared worse, dropping nearly 10% on the week to $2,110. Solana fully retraced its recent rally, settling back to $84 after briefly nearing $100.

Hyperliquid was the lone bright spot among crypto majors, gaining 10% on the week to $45, supported by a new partnership with Coinbase and growing awareness that pre-IPO stocks are undergoing price discovery on its HIP-3 platform. SpaceX made its debut on Hyperliquid the previous night and saw $40 million in volume. The newsletter noted that this development was expected to attract more coverage—and potentially pushback.

According to a Friday report from Bloomberg, CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange (the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange) have been privately lobbying the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and members of Congress to curb Hyperliquid’s activities. The exchanges reportedly argued that Hyperliquid’s decentralized structure and largely anonymous trading environment could enable bad actors to manipulate prices or circumvent financial sanctions, particularly in oil markets, where Hyperliquid has seen explosive volume growth since the onset of the Iran war.

Hyperliquid’s oil perpetual futures surged from $339 million in cumulative trading volume in late February to over $7.3 billion by March 12. The platform now captures between 34% and 44% of the decentralized derivatives market, with a total first-quarter 2026 trading volume of $619 billion.
