Gold and silver prices fall in domestic market

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) reduced the prices of gold and silver. The price of 22-carat gold per bhori has been reduced by BDT 4,374 following a decline in the price of pure or tejabi gold in the local market, according to the latest update.

In a notice issued this morning, BAJUS said the new prices came into effect at 10:00 am.

Under the revised rates, including VAT, the price of 22-carat gold has been fixed at BDT 228,556 per bhori. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at BDT 222,491, 18-carat at BDT 191,056, and traditional gold at BDT 156,064 per bhori.

Previously, BAJUS adjusted VAT on gold prices on Thursday, when the price of 22-carat gold stood at BDT 232,930 per bhori, including VAT.

So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 77 times. Of these, prices increased on 39 occasions, decreased 37 times, and VAT was adjusted once. In 2025 alone, gold prices were revised 93 times in the domestic market, rising 64 times and falling 29 times.

Alongside gold, silver prices have also been reduced in the local market. The price of 22-carat silver has been cut by BDT 116 per bhori to BDT 5,249. The prices of 21-carat silver have been set at BDT 5,016, 18-carat at BDT 4,257, and traditional silver at BDT 3,208 per bhori.

This year, silver prices have been adjusted 47 times, with 24 increases and 23 decreases. In 2025, silver prices were revised 13 times, with 10 increases recorded.
