Thistle Resources begins 3,000-metre drill program at Middle River gold project

Thistle Resources (TSX-V:TRCG, OTC:TRCGF) has started a 3,000-metre drill program at its Middle River Gold Project, with the drill rig now set up on its first pad.
The Phase 3 program will continue to test the MRG Upper Zone, building on two previous drill programs that returned strong gold intersections.
The zone is the first target area along a seven-kilometre mineralized fold system identified through Abitibi Geophysics’ 3D Orion Vision Technology.
Patrick Cruickshank, Thistle’s CEO, said the company is looking to grow the deposit’s footprint toward its two million ounce goal.
“Our 3D model will assist in determining an updated NI 43-101 and defining the size and scale of this system,” Cruickshank told shareholders.
The CEO also noted the seven kilometres of identified high-priority mineralized folds on the property, along with a new untested lower zone identified 400 metres below surface.
Gary Lohman, the company’s COO and vice president exploration, said the program is aimed at expanding the footprint of the Middle River Gold Deposit while testing the depth potential of the system.
The integration of historic drill data with Thistle’s own geophysics and drilling data supports expectations for a successful campaign, Lohman added, including testing of new targets on the flanks of the known mineralized body.
