4 Mining Stocks Call Traders Are Targeting Today

A handful of mining-related stocks seeing options activity amid sector weakness

SPDR S&P Metals and Mining ETF (NYSE:XME) is seeing unusually heavy call activity today. So far, 8,085 calls have crossed the tape compared to just 74 puts, with call volume running at six times the intraday norm. Overall options volume is quadruple the usual daily amount. XME was last seen down 2.6% at $110.62.

Ivanhoe Electric Inc (NYSE:IE) is also drawing call traders, with 9,442 calls exchanged compared to just 70 puts. Call volume is running at seven times what is typically seen at this point, while total options volume is six times the usual daily amount. IE was last seen down 6.5% at $9.72.

American Resources Corp (NASDAQ:AREC) is seeing 2,700 calls and 664 puts exchanged, with both call and put volume running at five times their respective intraday averages. Calls still account for roughly 80% of the activity, while total options volume is five times the usual daily amount. AREC was last seen down 1.9% at $2.10.

Dakota Gold Corp (NYSE:DC) rounds out the group, with 2,500 calls exchanged compared to only 50 puts. Call volume is running at 13 times the intraday norm, while overall options volume is nine times the usual daily amount. DC was last seen down 1% at $5.75.
