Recording Date 9-18-2026. The S&P 500 slipped just 0.1% but held its 0.618 Fibonacci retracement, keeping my bias pointed higher, while the DXY gained 1.1% before forming a topping tail. The VIX dropped 6.5%, signaling reduced market fear, while the 10-year Treasury yield briefly reached 5.04%, exceeding its 2023 spike intraday. I believe yields remain positioned to move higher. Precious metals also strengthened, with gold gaining 0.4% after holding its 50-day moving average and silver jumping 3%. PHYS gained 0.5%, PSLV rose 3.6%, while GDX and SILJ declined 0.7% and 1%, respectively.
I also examine some compelling setups across uranium, copper, energy, coal and industrial metals. Copper climbed 2.2%, while COPX fell 1.4%. Uranium slipped 0.3%, with spot at $89.75 versus $96.50 term contracts, while SRUUF traded at roughly a 10% discount and URNM dropped 3.9%. WTI oil fell sharply by 4.5%, potentially setting up support near $82, while XLE declined 1.3%. Natural gas gained 3.1%, even as FCG dropped 4.4%. Coal showed further weakness, with the coal ETF falling 7.4%, while platinum gained 0.5%, palladium lost 0.3%, nickel declined 1.7%, and PICK fell 2.5%. Across these charts, I’m watching moving averages, Fibonacci levels, RSI divergences, bear flags and breakout patterns to identify where the next opportunities could emerge.
