Stocks may stay active as PVR Inox exits 4700BC, Sun Pharma and Cipla recall US products, HCL Tech acquires Finergic, ABB India restructures robotics, Asahi Glass shifts to green power, and Hindustan Copper wins a new mining block.

PVR Inox has sold its entire stake in the popcorn brand 4700BC, owned by Zea Maize. The multiplex cine major has sold its stake in Zea Maize to Marico for Rs 226.8 crore. PVR INOX had acquired a 70 per cent stake in Zea Maize for around Rs 5 crore in 2015. The exit in PVR Inox is in line with its strategy of strengthening its balance sheet by monetising assets.

Sun Pharma and Cipla are recalling products in the US due to manufacturing-related issues, according to the US Food and Drug Administration. As per its latest Enforcement Report, the US-based arm of Mumbai-based Sun Pharma is recalling over 26,000 bottles of a generic medication to treat dandruff and skin conditions with inflammation and itching. The Princeton (New Jersey)-based Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Inc is recalling 24,624 bottles of Fluocinolone Acetonide Solution Topical Solution for “Failed Impurities/Degradation Specifications”, the US health regulator said. In a separate disclosure, the USFDA stated that a US-based arm of Mumbai-headquartered drugmaker Cipla is recalling 15,221 syringes from the US market. The Warren (New Jersey)-based Cipla USA, Inc is recalling the Lanreotide Injection, 120 mg/0.5 mL, 0.5 mL per pre-filled syringe due to the “presence of particulate matter”, the USFDA noted.

HCL Technologies announced the acquisition of Singapore-based IT firm Finergic Solutions Pte for S$19 million (approximately Rs 136 crore), aiming to enhance its financial services expertise, particularly in core banking and wealth management.

The board of ABB India Ltd has approved a restructuring of its robotics operations. This move aligns with the global ABB group’s previously announced spin-off and divestment of its robotics business to SoftBank Group. ABB India has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary, ABB Robotics India Private Limited (INRBT). Its board has cleared the sale of ABB India’s shareholding in INRBT to ABB Robotics Schweiz AG for Rs 1 lakh plus related expenses. This will be followed by the transfer of ABB India’s robotics business to INRBT on a slump sale basis for at least Rs 1,568.2 crore. The transaction is subject to shareholder approval via a postal ballot for the material related-party transaction.

Asahi India Glass Ltd (AIS) has signed a managed hybrid power supply and energy management agreement with Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), boosting its transition towards renewable energy at several manufacturing locations. Under this agreement, AESL’s commercial and industrial (C&I) division will manage a hybrid power mandate of 15.50 crore units per year. This will help meet AIS’s electricity requirements at facilities in Bawal (Haryana), Roorkee (Uttarakhand), and Patan (Gujarat), officials said.

Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL), a Coal India subsidiary, has called on employees to boost production in the final quarter by meeting targets and improving daily efficiency, aiming to address output shortfalls up to December. ECL reports strong operations, highlighted by 133.013 million cubic metres of overburden removal, supporting higher coal output.

Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) has emerged as the preferred bidder for the Baghwari-Khirkhori Copper and Associated Mineral Block in Madhya Pradesh after submitting the highest final price offer in a successful forward e-auction completed on January 22, and has been granted a composite licence, including a mining lease.

Alphalogic Industries Limited has secured a Rs 2.76 crore order from Blink Commerce Pvt Ltd (Blinkit) to design, manufacture, supply, and install a Storage Racking System across Blinkit’s units in Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Thane and Mumbai (Maharashtra), Bangalore (Karnataka), Rangareddy District (Telangana), Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh), and Indore (Madhya Pradesh).

Airfloa Rail Technology Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Janatics Industrial Automation Pvt Ltd to collaboratively develop and supply Automatic Door Systems for railway applications. The MoU covers solutions intended for modern railway coaches, including those for Freight EMU and Vande Bharat platforms.

Hester Biosciences Limited has received the manufacturing license from the Food & Drugs Control Administration to manufacture and market the Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza Vaccine, Inactivated H9N2 strain for poultry. Low-pathogenic Avian Influenza H9N2 strain has been a persistent challenge in poultry flocks and is known to cause year-round comorbidity, leading to significant economic losses. H9N2 can lead to an irreversible drop in egg production in layers and performance loss in broilers. It can also lead to high mortality in the presence of other infections.
