Lowell Spinners defeated on Johnny Damon Bobblehead day in Lowell

Despite ripping two home runs, the Lowell Spinners saw their modest two-game winning streak ended Saturday.
The Worcester Bravehearts collected 16 hits at LeLacheur Park to romp past the Spinners, 13-6.
Lowell (2-6) allowed two runs in the first, two more in the second and three in both the fifth and sixth innings during the Futures Collegiate Baseball League clash.
Hammering home runs for the hosts were Esteban Dessureault and Quincy Kerr. Dessureault finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double. Kerr ripped his home run to left field in the fifth.
Marco Zirpolo and Cal Chance each drove in a run in the bottom of the ninth. Catcher Brent Gallo went 2-for-4 to help Lowell’s 10-hit attack.
The Spinners host Vermont on Sunday (5 p.m.).
Former Boston Red Sox Johnny Damon threw out the first pitch and he was honored before the game as part of his Bobblehead day. He signed autographs, signed his Bobblehead, posed for pictures with fans and was even dunked in a dunk tank while the first inning was going on.
