Five Companies Set to Raise Over Rs 7,400 Crore via IPOs This Week

Dhoot Transmission and four others aim to raise substantial capital through upcoming IPOs, highlighting the vibrant Indian market.

This week, the Indian capital market is poised to witness a significant influx of funds, with five companies collectively aiming to raise over Rs 7,400 crore through Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).

Dhoot Transmission Limited, a prominent player in the electrical and electronics sector, will open its IPO for public subscription, priced between Rs 829 and Rs 871 per share. The issue comprises a total size of Rs 3,067 crore, which includes a fresh issue of Rs 1,400 crore, alongside an offer-for-sale of around 1.91 crore shares valued at approximately Rs 1,666.89 crore. The IPO will close this Wednesday.

The share allotment plan includes reserving 50 per cent for qualified institutional buyers, 15 per cent for non-institutional investors, and the remaining 35 per cent for retail investors. Notably, shares worth up to Rs 6 crore have been earmarked for eligible employees, allowing them a discount of Rs 80 per share.

Among the fresh proceeds, ₹766 crore is intended for settling existing debts, Rs 150 crore will support the establishment of two new manufacturing facilities, with the rest allocated for general corporate purposes.

Post-IPO, Dhoot Transmission expects to have a cash surplus of approximately Rs 900 to Rs 1,000 crore, maintaining a debt-free balance sheet. The company has already allotted 1.05 crore shares at Rs 871 per share to 72 anchor investors, raising Rs 918.27 crore prior to public subscription.

Major mutual funds and investment firms have shown interest as anchor investors, including SBI Mutual Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, and BlackRock, among others. This broad participation signifies strong market confidence in Dhoot Transmission’s business model and growth potential.

Dhoot Transmission, established in 1998, specializes in the design, engineering, manufacturing, and supply of wiring harnesses and electrical distribution systems for both automotive and non-automotive applications. The company boasts a stable customer base enriched by long-standing relationships with leading automotive original equipment manufacturers.

Analysts have expressed optimism regarding Dhoot’s prospects. According to SBI Securities, the company is well-positioned to benefit from the accelerating electrification trend in the automotive sector, as around 95 per cent of its products focus on electric vehicles or adaptable powertrain architectures.

Brokerage firms like Swastika Investment and Anand Rathi have recommended subscribing to the IPO for potential long-term gains. However, they caution that the current valuations appear to be fairly priced. Market leaders expect strong revenue growth driven by increasing bicycle values and demand for electric vehicles. Despite concerns regarding customer concentration, Dhoot Transmission’s solid market position and expansion opportunities align with the growing Indian automotive sector.

As interest in the stock market intensifies, this week signifies a busy period for investors exploring new opportunities. The momentum generated by these IPOs reflects the robust dynamics within India’s capital market, drawing attention from both local and international investors.
