Join one of six Jones Falls 2076 Dreamwalks, led by Ren Dodge, and trace the Stony Run overland, learn about the history of buried streams, and imagine what it will look like in 2076.

The Jones Falls River has been partially hidden below I-83 for over 50 years, overlooked and mistreated. How might we radically reimagine our river as the center of a reconnected and ecologically vibrant Baltimore?

For this Dreamwalk, Dodge will lead Buried Stony Run, following the hidden path of Stony Run from its outfall near the Potts and Callahan site to where it disappears underground beneath the baseball fields. Along the way, he’ll explore the history of Baltimore’s buried streams, discuss the vision for a future confluence park, and invite participants to imagine what it would mean to daylight and restore the meeting of Stony Run and the Jones Falls as the centerpiece of the future Jones Falls Greenway Park.

About Jones Falls 2076

Jones Falls 2076 is a speculative design project to envision aspirational and quixotic futures for the river in 2076, half a century from now. This series of River Reimagining workshops, art exhibitions, discussions, and publications will encourage radical dreaming and summon collective action on the future of the Jones Falls.

About Walk Guide Ren Dodge

Ren Dodge is an environmental scientist, photographer, and remote sensing specialist based in Baltimore. Originally from Minneapolis, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in photography from San Francisco State University, spent over a decade in California as a professional photographer, then moved to Baltimore to earn a Master of Science in environmental science from Towson University, focusing on stream restoration and remote sensing. His work explores the intersection of science, landscape, and storytelling.
